  • First off, it’s wonderful. Absolutely brilliant. I’d even venture to say that Gatiss and Moffat have outdone themselves this time. There are, of course, one or two things I’d like to pick at, but hey - it was still magnificent
  • I laughed. I laughed so hard. The whole room was in stitches for parts of it - the writing this episode is fabulously hilarious. And we burst out into applause so many times - an extraordinarily clever line here, a wonderful yet understated canon reference there… You will laugh. You will love it.
  • The performances were, you guessed it, stellar. I loved seeing a lot more of Mycroft. His character is filling out more and more.
  • Cinematography and score - outstanding as ever. I think you may sense a pattern developing here…
  • THEN: before the screening, the intro-guy joked (or so I thought) about Moriarty hiding in the room somewhere. In actual fact, it turned out that Andrew Scott was there, which was exciting, though he didn’t come on stage for the Q&A.
  • Mark Gatiss, when asked what was his favourite part of the episode, replied that it was ‘right now’, having finished everything and getting such a lovely response from the audience. I was in the front row, and I saw him tearing up at that. I’m pretty sure we all awww’d.
  • Benedict was asked who would win in a fight, his Holmes or RDJ’s. He unfortunately didn’t give a definitive answer.
  • When discussing Martin Freeman (who couldn’t be there because he’s ‘hobbiting around in a forest in New Zealand’), we were told of how lewd he could be on set - Benedict referred to him as ‘Martin Freehands’, as apparently he can get a bit touchy-feely…
  • AAAAND on the way out, Benedict was stood right next to me. He smells absolutely divine. And yes ladies, he’s as gorgeous IRL as he is on screen.
