Thinking about this is what makes me panic about Reichenbach. I have this nightmare scenario for the end of the episode in my head, and I’m so afraid that it will happen.
John will be back in his dull little flat, back in his grey world with no excitement, back with his cane. He’ll limp back into Ella’s office and sit down, just like the first episode. Ella will ask how he’s been, and John will shake his head, smile sadly, and say quietly “You know, nothing happens to me.”
