Ok but there’d had to be a scene where they’re captured by firebenders (they recognized enjolras) and they don’t know grantaire is the avatar and they force an earth bender to trap enjolras on the ground (like when it happens to katara) and grantaire goes full avatar mode (didnt happen before) and saves him and Enjolras just gapes after bc 1) he thought grantaire would leave him to die since he wouldn’t be “dragged back” anymore 2) he just took down an entire army to save Enjolras

yes! then grantaire collapses after and enjolras drags him to hide in the woods or in the forest or something (like the places where team avatar used to set up camp) and grantaire wakes up a bit later and he’s like “what happened?” and enjolras is like “we were attacked by firebenders” and grantaire’s like “how?” and enjolras is like “we had some help. get some rest and we’ll be back on the road again tomorrow” and grantaire makes some quip that’s so very grantaire, but falls asleep and enjolras stays up all night tending to the campfire and taking care of grantaire bc it’s the least he can do
