it’s easy for me, & probably for any writer, to write about people in the heat of a moment & paint them as being beautiful, or terrible, or broken, or grand, even if that isn’t the whole truth or the whole person. the poem that these lines are pulled from began because somebody told me how much they hated the boy I’d been writing about, when he really wasn’t all that bad. ever since I’ve been kinda hyper conscious of my audience’s perception of my work which is both a good & a bad thing. I guess what I’m trying to say is that nothing is ever one sided — even when it’s coming from the loser’s point of view (especially in love).
