Hi everyone!
So I’m on my last semester of university (FINALLY) and as per university rules, in order for me to graduate, I must…produce a thesis. And so I’ve decided to make my thesis topic something close to my heart—the One Direction Fandom, and fanfiction. Specifically, I want to look into how the ideas queer individuals gather from One Direction slash fiction play into their notions of their queerness, their identity, and their everyday thoughts and activities.
Too much? Basically I want to see how 1D slash fiction affects the queer individuals’ everyday thoughts and actions hahahaha.
So to do this, I’m going to need 5 (five) individuals by this Saturday, August 25, who’ll be willing to write down diary entries and answer a few questions. Criteria is as follows:
- must be a queer individual—any sexuality is allowed except heterosexuality
- must read 1D slash fiction regularly/semi-regularly (or at least, likes to read fanfiction)
- preferably someone who also writes fanfiction (even though it’s not been published on ao3 or wherever)
- willing to share or write about themselves and their activities and thoughts for two weeks
Please, if you’re willing to do this, just let me know!!! I promise the information I gather will strictly be for academic purposes, and will only be seen by me and maybe my thesis adviser. It would really mean a lot to me if you would help me graduate!
