The other day in Psychology my professor talked about the Nerumberg Trials and asked us what we thought they said when they were asked “Why did you do that? Why did you kill all those people?”
The answer was “We were just doing what we were told” and the consequences if they hadn’t done it would’ve probably been something similar to this.
Basically, I admire these solders for not following, for not obeying, for not doing what they were told and I don’t think they died in vain either.
I feel this runs along the same principles as “the problem isn’t just helping rape victims, it’s teaching people not to rape.” These soldiers are heroes.
