I had my ears pierced the day I was born. I don't remember it, but my mother always tells me how much she regrets it, because the midwife just took the piercing and put it right through my lobe and I screamed so hard that she started crying as well. I don't think it's traumatic, but I personally wouldn't do it to my child. I got a second piercing years later with some numbing cream and a gun and it didn't hurt, so I'd rather do that. Just like I wish I hadn't be baptized 🤷🏻‍♀️ I want to choose

but i mean, i guess it’s your prerogative as a parent! i just really don’t think that ear piercings = child abuse and like it’s all fine if it’s your choice not to do it to your kid, as long as you don’t like impose your beliefs on people who choose to do it
