Ask meme for people feeling some kinda way about writing

I had this realization that all those writer ask memes are super upbeat and kind of assume we are all productive and have tons of stories out all the time and idek I just felt like there should be a list for??? The ways that writing makes me feel sometimes?! Because look sometimes I just like being in the frustration with y’all.

A) feel free to add more!! B) you are awesome and should keep writing

1. Are there particular things that hate-spire you to keep going, as in you look at them and think grimly “if THAT can get an audience than so can I”? For instance: Two and a Half Men had twelve seasons

2. What is your favorite way to procrastinate when you should be writing?

3. Which one stresses you out more, daily wordcount goals, or “first draft done by this date” deadlines?

4. What’s the longest time you’ve spent trying to write a single scene? What was so hard about it? Fuck that scene.

5. What’s the worst line of dialogue you’ve watched yourself write, as if from a very long distance and unable to stop yourself?

6. Is there a punctuation pattern or a phrase that you just KEEP GODDAMN REPEATING in your writing? What is it??

7. What’s the most indulgent self-insertion character you’ve ever come up with?

8. Has trying to write ended up destroying your enjoyment of anything? e.g., movies you used to love, tropes that you can’t stop yourself from analyzing?

9. Is there a thing that people keep Not Getting about your stories, that you really wish they would?

10. Is there a kind of writing, style, or genre that you’d like to get better at and always think you’re crap at? E.g., dialogue, action, romance…?

11. Longest drought or break from writing??

12. Is there something in writing that seems easy for everybody else but just keeps being inexplicably hard for you?

13. Is there a time you put out a piece of writing that you thought was awful, and people loved it?

14. What’s a question you WISH someone would ask you about writing? Ask yourself that question now!
